Mitsooz Artisan FAQ
For Makers, Studios, and Craftspeople Interested in Opening a Shop
1. What is Mitsooz?
Mitsooz is a curated marketplace for artisan-led home décor.
We partner with makers and studios whose work is shaped by craftsmanship, culture, and story. Our platform highlights intentional creations that help collectors bring meaning and individuality into their homes.
2. Who can apply to open a shop?
We welcome:
- One-person studios
- Small teams
- Studios where the lead artist remains directly involved in the creative process
If your work begins with your hands, your vision, and your identity, we want to see it.
3. What types of products are you looking for?
We look for artisan-made pieces within:
- Home décor
- Furniture
- Textiles
- Tabletop and barware
- Sculptural objects
- Wall art
- Artisan-crafted accents
We also welcome pieces with cultural roots, innovative processes, or unique artistic perspectives.
4. Do I need to handmake every piece myself?
No.
We welcome studios that create with intention — whether you work solo or with a small team for support.
The key is direct involvement in:
- the concept
- the design
- the artistic direction
- the handwork or supervised production
- the final expression
We do not accept items purchased wholesale or mass-marketed products.
5. What is not a fit for Mitsooz?
We are not a fit for studios that:
- resell factory-made or mass-produced items
- buy bulk goods and rebrand them
- offer products with no artistic identity or hands-on craft
- rely solely on dropshipping with no creative involvement
Our curation centers on artistry, story, and meaningful craftsmanship.
6. Do you require exclusivity?
Not at this time.
You are welcome to sell on your own site or other select curated platforms.
We simply ask that your presence on Mitsooz reflects a thoughtful, intentional selection of your work.
7. What does “hands-on involvement” mean?
It means:
- You design the pieces.
- You oversee how they’re made.
- You (or someone you trained) participate in the making.
- Your creative vision drives the work.
Hands-on involvement is about integrity — not size.
8. How does the application process work?
After submitting your application:
- Our team reviews your work for craftsmanship, story, and alignment with Mitsooz.
- We assess product photography, consistency, and presentation.
- We determine whether your studio fits our inaugural marketplace vision.
- Approved artisans receive onboarding details, shop setup guidelines, and next steps.
If we need more information, we’ll reach out directly.
9. What do you evaluate in applications?
We look for:
- quality and craftsmanship
- originality
- artistic identity
- cultural or personal storytelling
- clarity of your creative vision
- hands-on involvement
- cohesive product selection
- ability to fulfill orders reliably
We want to partner with studios who care about their work and the homes it enters.
10. How many artisans will be accepted initially?
We are selecting a small first cohort of 3–5 artisan shops for our inaugural launch.
This allows us to champion each studio with intention and spotlight your art meaningfully.
11. What happens if I’m not selected?
Many artisans will apply — and we will only choose a handful for the first wave.
If you are not selected:
- It does not mean your work isn’t exceptional
- You’re welcome to apply again during the next cohort
- We may reach out directly if your work aligns with a future category or campaign
Our goal is long-term community, not fast onboarding.
12. Who handles shipping?
Each artisan shop handles its own shipping, packaging, and delivery.
Collectors should contact your studio first with questions or concerns.
Mitsooz will step in only if absolutely necessary.
13. What should my shipping and return policy include?
You will outline:
- processing times
- shipping methods
- packaging expectations
- return/refund policy
- handling of damaged items
- carrier claim process
Collectors will be directed to your shop page for details.
14. What about damaged or broken items?
Collectors should file a claim with the carrier first.
Your shop may replace or refund items at your discretion.
Repeated issues may lead to removal from the platform.
15. Do I need professional photos?
Clear, well-lit photography is essential for marketplace standards.
Lifestyle images are a plus but not required.
We will provide guidelines to help you present your work beautifully.
16. How will collectors find my shop?
Mitsooz will highlight your studio through:
- featured shop sections
- collection pages
- blog spotlights
- newsletters
- editorial campaigns
- social media features
Our goal is to connect you with collectors who appreciate intentional craft.
17. How do payouts work?
Accepted shops will receive full details during onboarding, including:
- payout schedule
- processing timelines
- fee structure
- order management system
You’ll maintain full control of your shop within our marketplace framework.
18. How do I apply?
