The Narrative.

Ducks in the Distance
An Original Oil Painting

The Sound of Silence.
There is a specific, heavy stillness that only exists on a frosty morning in the South. In "Ducks in the Distance," Carol Roark invites you into that silence. You can almost hear the faint, rhythmic call of a distant flock through the mist. Using the prestigious Hensche colorist technique, Roark captures the atmospheric vibration of the rural landscape, turning a quiet creek and a stand of winter trees into a transportive experience of light and temperature.

A Masterwork of Southern Light.
As a veteran of the American Impressionist Society and a master of plein air painting, Carol Roark documents the fleeting moments of the Southern environment with unrivaled clarity. This 18x24 original oil painting is a one-of-a-kind illustrative study of nature at its most serene. The horizontal orientation and soft, high-key palette provide a sense of expansive calm, making it the perfect focal point for a space designed for reflection and peace.
