The Narrative.

Crossing
An Original Framed Oil and Cold Wax Painting

The Freedom of the Found Path.
In the world of Kari Bell, a painting is not a static window: it is an evolving conversation. "Crossing" investigates the threshold where physical geography meets internal memory through a sophisticated layering of terracotta, sun-bleached cream, and weathered grey. This Work is intentionally multi-directional, allowing the collector the freedom to hang the piece vertically or horizontally. Because Bell seeks to "find" her images rather than force them into a composition, the work possesses a rare structural equilibrium that remains evocative and balanced regardless of the angle, adapting seamlessly to the unique architecture of your home.

Technical Mastery and Material Depth.
Drawing from her background as a university professor and department chair, Bell’s practice is defined by a rigorous intellectual depth. In "Crossing," she moves beyond the structured language of the academy to a practice of unearthing the image within the material. Utilizing a rich combination of oil and cold wax on cradled panel, she use palette knives to scratch and scrape the surface, revealing a visual record of the painting’s evolution. This 20x16 Work is presented in a waxed pine frame, individually handcrafted for this specific painting. It is an archival bridge between the intellectual depth of a scholar and the intuitive soul of a contemporary master.
