In "Into the Trees," Charles Buckley investigates the visceral experience of the forest: the way sunlight fractures across a path and the deep shadows of the timber. The verticality of the trunks creates a complex grid when met with Buckley’s meticulous horizontal striae. This original drawing operates on the belief that forgetting is a necessary component of remembering. From a distance, the mind bridges the gaps between the hand-drawn ink lines to create a clear narrative of a sun-drenched wood.
